New Goat Residents Join the Woodlands Family
There has been plenty of excitement at Woodlands Academy Farm following the arrival of two young goats, Geoff and Biscuit, who moved in on Monday.
The playful pair, who are only a few months old, are currently getting used to their new surroundings and spending time with the academy’s animal care team. Staff have been making sure the youngsters are comfortable by providing plenty of warm straw bedding, along with food and treats to help them feel at home.
Even more excitingly, Geoff and Biscuit will soon be joined by two additional goats, helping to grow our farm community and creating even more opportunities for pupils to learn about animal care and welfare.
Staff are looking forward to introducing the new arrivals to pupils when they return from the half-term break.
Alongside the new goats, one of the farm’s much-loved alpacas continues to be a firm favourite among staff and pupils alike. Known for being incredibly inquisitive, the alpaca enjoys getting involved in daily activities and is always keen to receive plenty of attention from visitors and the animal care team.
The farm plays an important role in providing hands-on learning experiences for pupils, helping them develop confidence, responsibility and valuable animal care skills while building positive relationships with the animals in their care.
With Geoff, Biscuit and two more goats set to arrive soon, there is plenty for the Woodlands Academy community to look forward to in the weeks ahead.
