Helping the Habitat

Pupils on the Land-Based Studies programme at Woodlands Academy spent the morning in the woodland managing the pond in preparation for the arrival of spring.

Water quality in a pond can decline across the seasons and pondlife can sometimes need a little help. Although a slightly wet and smelly job, pupils discovered the reasons why it is important to manage our aquatic environments and enjoyed finding lots of small beasties hidden under the water.
