Why our pupils love their Food Tech Lessons

Food Technology encompasses health, hygiene, nutrition, and food science as well as food preparation. Whilst a specialist subject, Food Technology provides an opportunity for cross-curricular learning.

At Woodlands Academy we keep the environment flexible to facilitate planning, designing, evaluation, preparation, and realization.

Year 9 were in the Food Tech room today, learning how to make cookies. We asked them what they like about the subject…

Owen: “It’s my favourite lesson and Mr Taylor is my favourite teacher. I like to cook.”

Regan & JP: “I like all the different foods, and Mr Taylor is a ‘G’ and makes everyone laugh.”

Alfie: “I enjoy the cooking and the washing up”.
