We recognise that reading is a gateway to learning, success, and self-belief. At Woodlands, we strive for excellence in reading across the whole curriculum. Our reading provision is designed to meet the needs of all pupils: building confidence, fluency, and a genuine love of reading.
Reading, writing, and spoken language are interwoven into all subjects, ensuring that pupils can access, interpret, and communicate ideas effectively. We believe that developing language and literacy is central to emotional regulation, social connection, and lifelong learning.
Across all classes, pupils are provided with bespoke, engaging, and carefully scaffolded opportunities to develop their reading skills, knowledge, and confidence within a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment.
